Chelsea have received a major boost in their transfer pursuit of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang with reports that the Borussia Dortmund star has turned down a move to the Chinese Super League, Metro.co.uk can be quoted.
Tianjin Quanjin were reportedly in for the prolific Gabon international, but the transfer window in China has now closed with Aubameyang seemingly not taking them up on their big-money offer.
According to Kicker, the 28-year-old was offered a four-year contract of around £26million a year, with the club offering Dortmund £70m for his signature.
With recent reports suggesting Dortmund have been offering Aubameyang to clubs such as Chelsea for around £65m, it seems likely that the player himself decided against a lucrative move to the Far East.
Aubameyang has been linked with a whole host of top sides this summer, with big names in Europe surely now set to battle it out for his signature.
Reports earlier this week linked him strongly with Chelsea, but Kicker claim the likes of AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain could still be in the race to snap him up before the end of the transfer window.
The former Saint-Etienne striker scored 40 goals in total last season, establishing himself as one of the deadliest finishers in Europe.
