Chelsea are monitoring the progress of Montreal Impact winger Ballou Jean-Yves Tabla after receiving a tip-off from club legend Didier Drogba.
Tabla, 18, has come through the Impact’s academy and trained with Drogba during the striker’s one-year stay in Canada.
The winger scored on his MLS debut last April and has so far made 17 appearances for the Canadian side, who sit eighth in the eastern conference table.
Chelsea have signed Antonio Rudiger, Willy Caballero and Tiemoue Bakayoko so far this term and ESPN report they could move for Tabla.
Canada have called the talented teenager into their senior squad but he’s yet to feature as he’s deciding between them and his native Ivory Coast.
Chelsea, meanwhile, are expecting to announce Alvaro Morata’s move to the club this weekend.
The Spaniard arrived in London on Friday but Chelsea were unable to get him a visa for the Beijing leg of their far-east tour.
