Barcelona forward Neymar has reportedly agreed on a contract with Paris Saint-Germain and his transfer to the club could be finalised by Monday or Tuesday.
The Brazil international’s future has been the subject of much speculation in recent weeks after shock reports that he wants out of the Nou Camp for a new challenge.
Neymar’s father has been in discussions with PSG and it is now claimed that his son will sign a five-year contract, earning nearly £27million a year after tax.
The transfer is likely to be the most expensive of all time as PSG look set to meet his £197m release clause, though an agreement between the two clubs has yet to be finalised.
According to RMC, the deal could finally be in place by next week, either on Monday or Tuesday, with some details still to be ironed out.
Barca have insisted throughout this saga that Neymar would not be sold, though club president Josep Bartomeu sounded less confident when he spoke about the player yesterday.
Asked if Neymar would be staying, Bartomeu said: ‘You know that players decide if they want to leave, they can decide. But as far as Barcelona, we want him, and we need him. Because if we want to win, we need the best players possible.’
