Adele is rumoured to be taking the jump from pop diva to Hollywood star with a role in an upcoming adaptation of Oliver!.
The Tottenham-born singer is reportedly in talks to star as the iconic character Nancy, the prostitute lover of Bill Sikes. according to metro.co.uk.
She is said to see the role as a ‘new challenge’ and is excited by the fact her four-year-old son Angelo could appreciate it too.
‘It would be a major part for her and she’s seriously considering it,’ the source said.
‘She’s talked about Angelo being her number one priority and she sees this as a role that he could appreciate too. It would be a new challenge for her but one she would definitely be up for.’
West End legend Sir Cameron Mackintosh is working on the Oliver! remake with Working Title Films, who helped create the 2012 remake of Les Miserables.
If Adele, 29, accepted the offer to star in the remake of the 1968 classic, which is based on Charles Dickens’ Oliver Twist, it would be her first film role.
She announced in June her desire to quit touring, saying in a letter to her fans: ‘I only ever did this tour for you and to hopefully have an impact on you the way that some of my favourite artists have had on me live.
