Manchester United’s top four hopes were dealt a major blow on Tuesday evening after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side were beaten 2-1 by Wolves.
Scott McTominay had given the Red Devils the lead at Molineux with a crisp strike but Wolves levelled before half-time through Diogo Jota.
Both teams had chances to win the game in the second half but Wolves scored the decisive goal as Chris Smalling put the ball into the back of his own net.
Marcos Rojo and Sergio Romero have been slammed for laughing on the Manchester United bench as the Red Devils slipped to the damaging defeat against Wolves.
With just seconds of the match remaining, substitutes Rojo and Romero were spotted laughing and joking on the bench as the camera focused on Solskjaer.
And Manchester United fans have reacted badly to the duo’s reactions, with some calling for the two players to be sold in the summer.
The 2-1 defeat means United remain fifth in the Premier League, level on points with Tottenham and two behind Arsenal, who both have a game in hand.
Chelsea trail Solskjaer’s side by one point and can overtake United on Wednesday when they face Brighton at Stamford Bridge.
