Manchester United are prepared to begin talks with Paul Pogba over a new contract following Real Madrid’s interest in the midfielder, according to reports.

The France international will have two years remaining on his current deal in the summer but reports have claimed that he is keen on joining up with Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid.

According to The Sun, Pogba is targeting a new contract worth £500,000 a week, which would make him United’s joint-top earner alongside Alexis Sanchez.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made it clear to United’s hierarchy that he wants Pogba, who currently earns £300,000 a week, to remain at Old Trafford. And United are now wary of Madrid’s interest and are looking to secure Pogba on a new three-year deal.
