Manchester City have been in contact with Youri Tielemans’ team about a potential move this summer, reports say.
The midfielder won a host of suitors this season after an impressive loan spell at Leicester City in the second half of the campaign.
Monaco are keen to offload Tielemans and Manchester United, Tottenham and Arsenal have all been tipped with making a move for the Belgian.
But the Sun claim City have made their move by getting in contact with Tielemans’ representatives.
Tielemans has remained tight lipped about his destination of choice, as Leicester battle to bring the 22-year-old to the King Power Stadium on a permanent deal.
But it is believed Tielemans is eager to play Champions League football next season, which would appear to rule out United as his next club.
Arsenal have the chance to secure qualification for next season’s Champions League against Chelsea on Wednesday night in the Europa League final.
Pep Guardiola was hugely impressed with Tielemans’ performance against City and spoke with the talented attacker on the pitch after the game.
Monaco reportedly want around £40million for Tielemans and City would have no issue matching that figure.
City are expected to spend big again this summer after successfully defending their Premier League title, as Guardiola chases triumph in the Champions League next season.
