Neymar has agreed a five-year contract with Barcelona, according to reports in Spain.
The Brazil international is desperate to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer and has reportedly told the French club’s president Nasser Al-Khelaifi that he wants to return to Barcelona.
According to Sport, Neymar has verbally accepted Barcelona’s offer ‘without hesitation’ as he is aware of the high transfer fee that Barcelona will need to spend in order to re-sign him from PSG.
The report claims that the 27-year-old has agreed to a contract that sees his PSG salary drastically reduced.
Neymar is currently earning €36.8 million (£32.8m) a season with PSG but that figure will drop to €24m (£21.4m) a year if he rejoins Barcelona.
It’s also claimed that Neymar is not ruling out the possibility of moving to Real Madrid – but only if he is told that a return to Barcelona is not possible this summer.
Earlier this week, reports claimed that Manchester United had been offered the chance to sign Neymar in exchange for Paul Pogba.
But United declined PSG’s offer as the cost of signing Neymar is too high, plus the club’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is keen to keep Pogba at Old Trafford.
