Adamawa PDP dissociates self from Sen Abbo’s sex toy shop assault

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Adamawa State chapter, has dissociated itself from the actions of a senator representing Adamawa Northern Senatorial District, Elisha Ishaya Abbo, who assaulted a nursing mother at a sex toy shop in Abuja.

The PDP state Chairman, Tahir A. Shehu, speaking with journalists in Yola, said the party was seriously irked by the reactions of Senator Abbo on an issue that would have otherwise been resolved amicably.

Shehu said: “Men of honour and particularly elected legislative officers should not either in private or public molest, assault or degrade anyone, more so a woman.

“We cannot fathom any acceptable reason for the actions of the Senator Elisha Ishaya Abbo. We, therefore, condemned it and distance ourselves from this unruly behavior”.

PDP said Abbo’s behaviour is abhorrent, completely unacceptable and totally condemnable.

The party, however, pleaded with the Nigerian Senate to temper justice with mercy since Abbo has tendered an unreserved apology personally to the woman, all Nigerians, and the PDP over the matter.
