Frank Lampard admits Chelsea might not sign anyone in January transfer window

Frank Lampard has  admitted that Chelsea might not make any signings in the January transfer window – because the club will not make any knee-jerk decisions.

The Blues have been buoyed by the news that their transfer ban has been lifted by FIFA, meaning they are able to sign players once again.

And Lampard has identified several targets as he looks to add reinforcements to his young squad.

The likes of Moussa Dembele and Jadon Sancho have been linked but the club have a history of gambling on players in January in the past and them not paying off.

“I don’t want to comment on those deals because I think it’s easy with hindsight,” Chelsea’s manager said.

“The players you mentioned there were top players. I think the idea of January being a time to buy players, it’s difficult for everybody: for players coming in – especially if they’re coming from a different league – for the club and for the settlement of the group. I think that’s why we have to think ultra-carefully.
