Barcelona are willing to sell Ivan Rakitic at the end of the season for €20m (£17.6m) with the Croatian’s contract at the Nou Camp expiring in 2021, according to metro.co.uk.
The 32-year-old has been a consistently impressive performer in the Barca midfield since arriving from Sevilla in 2014, and remains a regular in the first team, making 31 appearances so far this season.
Rakitic has made 299 appearances in total for the Catalan side, winning four La Liga titles and the Champions League, making his initial transfer fee of around £16m very good value for money.
However, at 32-years-old and with just over a year left on his contract, Barcelona are ready to cash in on him in the summer rather than lose him for free in 2021, but are still looking to make a profit on him, according to Spanish publication Marca.
There will be a number of teams interested in snapping up the experienced schemer, who still has miles on the clock after only turning 32 last month.
Manchester United have regularly been linked with a move for the Croat over the last year, but a stay in Spain or switch to Italy looks more likely for the 2018 World Cup finalist.
Former club Sevilla are interested in bringing him back to Andalusia, and are reportedly willing to offer him a four-year contract, despite his advancing years.
This could be especially appealing given that Rakitic’s wife is from Sevilla, but he would have to take a drastic pay cut to move back to the south coast of Spain, roughly halving his current salary.
Sevilla are also reticent to pay more for Rakitic than they sold him for six years ago and would be looking to pay closer to £12m for his services.
Inter Milan and Juventus have also been linked with a move for the veteran.
