The governor of Lagos State has imposed the wearing of face masks on everybody in Lagos State.
This is to ensure that the corona virus disease does not spread from infected persons to other people as some do not show symptoms.
Hence, not wearing a mask in a public place within the state will attract a penalty.
In a tweet from the official account of the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu said:
“Dear Lagosians, even as we observe the lockdown, we are kicking off #MaskUpLagos; the COMPULSORY wearing of face masks in Lagos.
“Face masks help to protect us from droplets and secretions from coughing, sneezing etc as not everyone that is infected will show symptoms.”
