Neymar is willing to take a 50% pay cut to force through a transfer from Paris-Saint Germain back to Barcelona this summer, Mirror reports.
The Brazilian attacker is desperate to return to the club he left two years ago when PSG signed him for £198million.
The problem for Neymar is that, due to the financial impact of the coronavirus crisis, clubs don’t have the spare cash to meet PSG’s asking price.
With the 28-year-old having turned down the offer of a new contract earlier this year, the newly-crowned Ligue 1 champions are looking to recoup most of the money they paid for Neymar – although it is thought they will accept around £132m.
And Neymar is ready to grease the wheels of a transfer by agreeing to halve his £600,000-per-week wages, according to Mundo Deportivo.
That stance will not please PSG bosses, after Neymar was one of the players who rejected wage cuts amid the coronavirus crisis.
But his contract expires in 2022, and the club may have to let him move on rather than lose him for less next summer.
