Mohamed Salah has told Manchester City it’s Liverpool’s time to win the league title after the Reds’ emphatic victory over Crystal Palace.
The 4-0 win at Anfield means City must beat Chelsea in the next game to stop Liverpool being confirmed as Premier League champions.
Liverpool are 23 points ahead of City and Salah was asked how he felt about the prospect of winning the title on Thursday night.
‘I feel great,’ he told Sky Sports. ‘Since I came here I said I want to win the Premier League and the team and the city didn’t win it for a long time.
‘It is the right time. Maybe last year we had a chance, but Man City perform also really good and they deserved to win it. But it’s our time to win it, so it’s great.’
Questioned about if he would watch the game, Salah replied: ‘[I’ll be] playing with my daughter.’
Whatever happens between City and Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, Liverpool travel to the Etihad in their next game next week
Pep Guardiola had suggested he might rest players for the game ahead of their FA Cup clash, but Alexander-Arnold shrugged off the City boss’ comments.
‘We know we’re in that position but we won’t get overly excited,’ Alexander-Arnold said.
