It was a black Thursday in Uromi community of Edo state following the simultaneous robbery attacks of some commercial banks in the town.
According to some eyewitness reports, there was no security presence for almost two hours that the robbery lasted. Although report has it that some local vigilantes rushed to one of the scenes.
The daredevil rubbers were reported to have attacked the banks with explosives and sophisticated arms as sounds from explosions and gunshots rented the air.
Bodies of those who lost their lives in the robbery attack are said to have been deposited at St Camillius Hospital’s Mortuary.
The rubbers, as seen in this video share by an eyewitness, escaped as a gang on motorcycles and in motor vehicles. Report also has it that they were about twenty in number.
According to a report, the banks that were attacked and rubbed are UBA, Zenith bank, First bank, Fidelity bank and Union Bank.
“It is so sad that lives and properties are not protected in thus country. Reason people keep getting tired of the system”, an eyewithness said.
