His death comes just hours after actress Chinedu Bernard died in an Enugu church after collapsing.
It was said that the Nollywood actor, who was famed for playing the character of a king in most films, died on Tuesday in his hotel room after filming a film in the South East area.
Nollywood actress Ngozi Ezeh confirmed his death on Instagram, writing that the actor was not sick and that he slept the next day.
“I hate to say this but we have lost another Nollywood king, Sir David. He wasn’t sick, it just happened. How do we explain this, another loss in Nollywood. Oh Lord have mercy. I Mourn again oh.”
David Osagie was a scriptwriter, producer, and professional talent developer in addition to being an actor.
