Owo massacre: Funeral mass begins for slain victims [PHOTOS]

The burial mass for the murdered victims has begun thirteen days after a terror attack by some yet to be identified gunmen on attendees at Saint Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State.

On June 5, a group of daredevil shooters opened fire on attendees during a service, killing at least 40 people.

The funeral mass began at 10:00 a.m., after the corpses of the deceased were brought in in caskets.

The mass was held at Mydas Resort in Owo, which was packed to capacity, with Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and other dignitaries in attendance.

Following a procession of Catholic priests into the hall, the mass began.

Nigerians are still waiting to hear news about the arrest of the assailants who the counties authorities believe are members of the Islamic State of West- African Province, ISWAP.
