Tinubu names Kabiru Masari as running mate – Faskari

Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has chosen Kabiru Masari to be his running mate in the 2023 elections.

During an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Kabiru Faskari, a party chieftain, stated this.

“Our vice presidential nominee is Ibrahim Kabiru Masari.” “Under Oshiomhole (the previous national chairman of the party), he was the APC’s Welfare Secretary,” he stated on Friday’s episode. “His name has been submitted because he is a well-known politician in Kaduna.”

In contrast to the demand for a Muslim/Christian APC ticket, Faskari noted that choosing Kabiru, a native of Katsina State, does not violate the country’s laws.

He claims that Kabiru is experienced and connected to Tinubu, and that he will have no trouble working with the former governor of Lagos State.

“He is young; he represents the youths and is well-versed in politics, having served as an APC national officer.” He has known the presidential candidate for a long time and is close to him,” he explained. “It was a well-thought-out decision to publicize his name.”

He stated that the decision was reached after extensive consultations and that the party requires someone from a region with a sizable voting populace.

“I believe that was the presidential candidate’s decision after proper diligence,” the APC chieftain continued.

The APC is thought to be putting up a fight.

The APC is believed to be using Kabiru as a stopgap until the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) extends the deadline for presidential contenders to submit the names of their running mates.

The names were to be submitted by Friday, June 17th, according to INEC.
