A 37-year-old security guard named Anthony Egbo was murdered and decapitated on the grounds of the Living Faith Church in the Elebele Community of the Bayelsa state district of Ogbia.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing his mangled body with his throat severed early on Thursday morning following the event.
According to Daily Sun, the church’s assistant pastor reportedly found his remains.
According to Mr. Famous Egbo, the youth president of the Elebele Community, the victim’s remains were found on Thursday about 5.50 am.
“When people saw him, he was beheaded. His throat was missing, and some people suspected that it may be a case of ritual killing,” he said.
Asinim Butswat, the state police public relations officer, confirmed the occurrence when reached.
Butswat reported that the attack “was at the head region and his throat was slit” according to a report from the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in the Kolo neighborhood.
