According to reports, Hon. Nnamdi Okafor (Akajiugo Awka), the majority leader of the Anambra State House of Assembly, passed away in a hotel in Sandton City, Johannesburg, South Africa.

Okafor, who represents Awka South Constituency 1, was reported to have collapsed early on Wednesday. A hospital later confirmed that Okafor had passed away.

Okafor, a second-term lawmaker, was elected to the State Assembly in 2015 on the party’s platform (APGA).

As of the time this report was filed, the circumstances surrounding his death were still hazy.
