Football | Ronaldo 'considering' boyhood club following fallout at Old Trafford

According to Marca, Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo is getting closer to joining Sporting CP, the team where he spent his formative years.

Real Madrid, another of Ronaldo’s old teams, would have been his first choice, but Los Blancos are not keen on bringing him back.

The 37-year-old has determined that joining the Portuguese team again is his best course of action.

Sporting supporters were assured by Ronaldo’s mother last year that she would make an effort to persuade him to rejoin the team. He chose to join United, though, and the team has struggled this season and was eliminated from the Champions League.
