Manchester United have shown interest in the signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who is intent on Joining Chelsea, according to reports.
Aubameyang is one of the players that could depart Camp Nou before the end of the transfer window as Barcelona is eager to shed one of their top earners to improve their financial situation.
Thomas Tuchel is eager to bring in a new striker after Romelu Lukaku left this summer, and Chelsea have been extensive negotiations to sign Aubameyang.
Aubameyang has also made a move to join United, and sources suggest that he may receive a lengthier contract than Chelsea has offered the former Arsenal captain.
Aubameyang has reportedly already reached a personal agreement with Chelsea, according to Fabrizio Romano, and the 33-year-old wants to compete in the Champions League, something United cannot deliver.
Barcelona and Chelsea have not yet come to terms on a transfer fee for Aubameyang, and it is believed that the Spanish club is holding out for a sum close to €30 million (£25.3 million).
This week, Chelsea made a proposal of €20 million (£16.9 million), with the option to add Marcos Alonso in the transaction.
While the Chelsea defender is Barcelona’s top target to bolster their left flank, Alonso is eager to join the Spanish club this summer.
United is attempting to bring in a new striker while the transfer window is still open.
While Ten Hag wouldn’t completely rule out the prospect of bringing in a new striker before the month is through, Cristiano Ronaldo is still pushing to leave Old Trafford.
‘We plan with him [Ronaldo] and we stick to the plan and if there are good players available we will strike because we want to strengthen the squad always,’ Ten Hag said after United’s 1-0 win over Southampton on Saturday.
‘So we will be alert until the last second of the window.’
United are also intent on signing Ajax winger Antony but the Dutch club are only willing to accept a €100m (£84.8m) fee.
