Again, David Beckham ‘snubbed’ from honours list

David Beckham has once again been ‘snubbed’ for a knighthood on the New Year Honours list.

The former England footballer, 45, had been a favourite to pick up a title last year, given his service to the sport and various charities, but has been passed over once again.

David’s name was famously missing from the list in 2017 amid scrutiny over his investments in a tax avoidance scheme.

It’s been suggested that the star went on to pay a reported £12.7 million in tax the following year, which placed him and wife Victoria among the country’s 50 biggest tax payers.

While David did not feature, a number of sports stars made the star-studded New Year Honours list for 2021, which saw more than 1,200 people recognised for their contributions to public life.
