Manchester United face a battle to keep star striker Marcus Rashford this summer with Barcelona willing to pay around £100m to land the England international, according to the Mirror.
The 21-year-old has been identified by the Catalans as a long-term replacement for Luis Suarez, who could depart the Camp Nou in 2020 when he’ll be closing in on his 34th birthday.
Rashford has impressed the La Liga giants with his ability to play in a host of different positions in attack and they believe he could eventually replace Suarez through the middle.
Rashford has a year to run on his existing deal at Old Trafford and negotiations are underway over an improved contract.
The forward has been reinvigorated by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s arrival at the Theatre of Dreams but a move to Barcelona – and the chance to play with Lionel Messi in his twilight years – could prove too difficult to turn down.
United are believed to be willing to offer Rashford around £300,000-a-week to keep him at the club but they’re yet to make a breakthrough with the forward’s representatives.
Rashford has the chance to impress against his suitors tonight as he’s expected to lead the line for United at the Camp Nou.
