Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman dies aged 43 from colon cancer

The iconic Black Panther star’s family confirmed that the actor had been diagnosed with stage three colon cancer four years ago, and that it had progressed to stage four.

Chadwick died with his wife Taylor and his family by his side.

The actor’s family confirmed the devastating news on Instagram, with a statement reading: ‘It is with immeasurable grief that we confirm the passing of Chadwick Boseman.

‘Chadwick was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016, and battled with it these last 4 years as it progressed to stage IV.

‘A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much.

Boseman’s colleagues, peers and fans have been left stunned by his death, with stars taking to social media to honour the man who played Marvel’s T’Challa.

Oprah Winfrey commented: ‘What a gentle gifted SOUL. Showing us all that Greatness in between surgeries and chemo. The courage, the strength the Power it takes to do that. I’m in shock and awe’, while Kim Kardashian tweeted a picture of the actor in Black Panther and wrote: ‘Rest peacefully.’

Chadwick’s final Instagram post came on August 12, when he shared a picture with vice presidential hopeful Kamala Harris.
