Jose Mourinho has refused to offer his backing to Frank Lampard following reports claiming that Chelsea are considering sacking the 42-year-old.
Lampard’s future is under increasing threat following Chelsea’s 2-0 defeat to Leicester City earlier this week.
Chelsea have now lost five out of their last eight Premier League matches, and the club’s hierarchy are now reportedly considering alternative options to Lampard.
Mourinho hailed Lampard as the best professional he’s ever worked with during Spurs’ ‘All or Nothing’ series on Amazon Prime.
However, the Spurs boss has turned down the opportunity to offer Lampard some words of encouragement during Chelsea’s poor run of form.
When asked during his press conference on Friday if he believes Chelsea will stick with Lampard, Mourinho bluntly replied: ‘No, that’s not my problem at all.’
Lampard, meanwhile, insists he is not focusing on reports linking several managers with a move to Chelsea. ‘I don’t listen to it,’ said Lampard.
‘It’s only everywhere if you want to scroll through social media, I don’t do that.
‘I’m not stupid, I know what the pressure are that come with managing a top football club. ‘I only do my job, it doesn’t matter to me.’
