Manchester United may have decided not to sign Sporting Lisbon’s top midfielder, Bruno Fernandes, this summer.
The Premier League giants could also sell Striker Romelu Lukaku without signing in a replacement for the Belgium international at Old Trafford.
This claim was made by respected football expert, Simon Stone, who works for BBC Sport.
Stone disclosed this in a tweet on his official Twitter page on Sunday.
He wrote: “United could sell Lukaku without bringing in a replacement.
“They are still looking at transfer options but not at Bruno Fernandes, who is not on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s list.”
According to media reports, Man United are interested in signing Fernandes this summer.
The Red Devils are said to be on the verge of completing a stunning £56million deal for Fernandes.
