Leicester City defender Daniel Amartey has angered Chelsea supporters after he was filmed throwing away the club’s pennant in the dressing room after the Foxes’ FA Cup final win.
Youri Tielemans’ superb long-range goal in the second half was enough to seal Leicester City’s 1-0 victory over Thomas Tuchel’s side at Wembley.
Having secured the club’s first-ever FA Cup trophy, Leicester’s players continued their wild celebrations in the dressing room after the ceremony on the pitch had finished.
But Chelsea fans were left fuming after Amartey was filmed tossing Chelsea’s FA Cup pennant aside during the dressing room celebrations.
Amartey briefly held up the pennant to the camera before he threw it over his shoulder to the floor. The Chelsea pennant was exchanged before the game by Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta and Kasper Schmeichel, who skippers Leicester in Wes Morgan’s absence.
After watching the video, one Chelsea supporter wrote on Twitter: ‘If these Chelsea players watch this Daniel Amartey video and don’t turn up on Tuesday, then there’s something wrong.’
Another Chelsea fan wrote: ‘Show this to all Chelsea players before the game on Tuesday, please. If they still can’t rouse themselves, then we have a bigger problem on our hands.’
Speaking after his side’s defeat, Tuchel believes Chelsea’s players had done enough to edge out Leicester.
‘We are disappointed and not angry with our performance from the boys,’ said Tuchel.
‘I think the performance is enough to win it.
‘I think today we were unlucky and we’ve never hidden that we need to have that to win at this level. You need momentum, decision making, little details, the referee.‘
