A 50-year-old woman was on Saturday beheaded on her casava farm in Akwa Ibom State.
Ibom Tori learnt that the suspect ritualist killed the woman and cut off her head. The suspect attacked the victim who was in farm to harvest cassava.
The suspect, an indigene of Delta State name Lucky, was arrested following an alarm raised by a young man who had followed the woman to the farm. This which sent the youth of the community into vigilancy, a stop and search was carried out till the suspect was caught.
The youth of Oku Abak village along the Ikot Abasi – Port Harcourt express road, Abak Local government Area of the state wanted to lynch him before he was rescued and taken away by the men of the Nigerian Police force.
At the police station when interrogated, the boy is said to have confessed to beheading the woman in the farm because he was paid a hundred and fifty thousand naira (150,000) only by a prophetess to do so.
